2D to 3D Unfold

The concept of superimposition is reliant on gravity to keep two volumes together. However, the design of these two volumes appear to defy gravity all while using the concept of superimposition.

When apart, both volumes are impossible to stand upright in their current orientation. However, together they are very stable. The volumes are reliant on the perfect balance of weight distribution and positioning to stand.

These two watertight volumes were created by spatially combining two 4"x4"x4" cubes into one object representing one of three concepts: superimposition, interpenetration, or twinning. Everything was required to be done by hand.
